Building a steep skinny bridge on a fallen elm tree
A string of tornados and storms passed through the Southeastern US, and Berm Peak took a bit of a beating! This weekend, Alexander and I turn a downed Elm into a really fun skinny mountain bike bridge named Elm'r Fudd. This was a challenging feature to build, but it was even more challenging to ride.

Fyi, that maul was sent to me by a subscriber, and is made of some kind of hardwood. I don’t use the sledgehammer anymore because it just splits the wood before it makes it into the ground.
3 pound sledges are best
@marcel pavlin yesss i feel u bro
Hey Seth I am new. Do you own berm peak ?
When The skinner Rots and retires turn it in to a drop with the steep hill
Seth still has lever grips
Awesome video man! keep up the great work! :)
Berm exmess
Where I live you could not put a stake in the ground with out hitting a rock or at that 20 rocks
zeth...you are a jack of all trade.
rip drama. such a good pup ) :
Way to go Seth!
You should of put a jump at the and
Hey, hold on that tree was cut down, look at 2:32 you can see it's been cut at the base
That thing is not good
If you hit the end hard enough you could jump it
No more wobble wobble thank you those stakes 😂
1:37 pole saw
"Guess-timate"- Seth Alvo, 2020
My eyes was WIDE OPEN
This is why seth went to North Carolina!
owl mode 10:04
watching all vids
I'm getting mad GoPro effect, that thing looks easy
That’s so dope
I swear I thought the rhododendron was mountain laurel
Am I the only one who just so happened to be eating cake as he named the trail cake walk 🤔😂
Next time he will build a lift
Here at been peak we love lag screws 🤣🤣🤣
Spectacular carpentry skills!
If U think about it wap wa made for mtbing from the top make it drop
I only just noticed about the name change😂
Dude this is nature re use as it's best.
Proper sledge to hammer in stakes don't make it hard as its already hard
can you not read, or are you just ignorant?
ppe is life.... sometimes...🤣🤣
im happy to see you wearing chaps
(From Monty python and the holy grail movie) SHRUBBERY
My Dream Trail Beside My House Hope to ride There Soon! in my dream!
love this totally
Rich kid: I have a horrible backyard His backyard:
With all the hammering you do into wood you should make a beetle mallet so you can use both hands.
congratulations for your 2.09m subs :D
Who else loves watching Seth pound in stakes with a maul So satisfying
Honestly. What do you have against a good mallet or sledgehammer? I need to see a video comparison between your “janky” hammer vs a real sledgehammer. I’m guessing you’d save hours of frustration. 🥵
Phill Swift: I sawed this boat in half! Seth: I banged this post in the ground!
next year: he'll build a FREAKIN CHAIRLIFT to haul him to the top XD
his music is always the best
So.. No bails on the feature itself?!
You took reusability to another level!
First, i thought this was a documentary 😂
you need to add a berm after elmer fuddd
I see you like building sketchy af skinny rideable things.
Nice, but seeing that chainsaw and Seth in jeans... It's kind of the ultimate egotrip to skip ppe. A broken collarbone is a 4 cheese pizza in comparison to what that saw can to.
This is why we have no oxygen Lol
I dont even mountain bike but here I am - watching every video
I remember that storm...we got it bad in Tennessee too
pole saw
Very cool! 👍😀👌
I've hiked miles of State and Federal administered property. Alongside rogue-built single-track ride for bike pedal-push. In a county where one off-road 2-wheeling community has +50 miles of posted trail for use by bicycle use only and who act as land managers for private property owners. When I ride my embroidery colors are those of the Canyon Riders M/C. Their elected President and I once went 11 miles into state land rain forest to haul out my dead ride. I'm not happy when timber is harvested illegally. On state land timber sales support public education finance. My US Forest Service also sells timber to pay USA trade debt. I always report chainsaw and ax noise when heard where the ridge-line occurs. An unlikely illegal grow because my state will license and allow such agricultural use. I don't like timber thieves to further their illicit activity. My County Sheriff and with US Border Patrol air assets using thermal imagery welcome such communication. When I see bad things in Canada I've telephoned 1-800- 663-3456. Canada has 24/7 report service response. >>>p.s. ALworld has war video of thermal imagery by air assets. Its amazing to see people attempting to hide or flee aerial noise. It shows US ground forces 'mop-up' anybody outside at night without excuses.
Instead of a downslope
You should make it into a drop
How many acres are you building your trail on?
To help the wood last longer you could invest in some non-ferrous fasteners, like the lag screws seem to be to keep ferrous rot out of the wood. Stuff like rebar and iron/steel nails and screws will only speed up the rot process
You should probably get a mallet
Such an awesome channel, sick builds. I just bought some land in North Carolina, and I plan on doing some of this stuff you have built out!
W
I just love your channel. So many great vids, and all so well done.
hey seth's do you have a tiktok account
Get àn all train skateboard
If you could somehow lift it partially to get some PT under it maybe it would last a bit longer, but for the future 😉
Seths brakes hurt my ear
Dream backyard! Congrats
A palm tree cuter also if you make a long part made out of pine can you call it pinethon
I watch all of your videos even though I have never tried mountain biking...
Dude, i have seen so many videos you guys are like family now
Ah high wooden construction, I look at them in bike parks and I ask myself ... WHY! Wood is slippery when wet, it's always wet in the mountain.
If i ever did this in panama i would find as much snakes as seth’s and alex’s subs combines
I own a cabin and you gotta chill bringing my hopes up
Imagine how cool it would if it had a drama drop built in on the end
I'm a new fan. I am wondering is this private mountain?
one more roko ad and i stg ill do it
*4:27** Safety first* 😂
Not going to lie but the way that Seth has build all these mini tracks in his backyard is just incredible, i rememeber when he first began, they looked tiny and easy to ride, but all the new features have really uped the game. Keep up the hard work!!
What does off camper mean
What stem do you use
I think this whole forest is your own....😁
1:35, to answerf your question, those are called pole pruners
Name: nightmare on elm steep
1:36 I think Alex is talking about a pole saw
Wow! Just noticed how close you were to 2 million subs!!
You should buy a pole saw
Brilliant
Since the tree is already dead, you could use polyurethane to seal it to give it an even longer life. That goes for all your rough cut stuff too, if you want it to survive.
True
Dang Lucky friends
Ikr.
love the vids man keep it up
Hey me and my friend are making a trail because we like watching you and coping after you
Same wanna check them out
in fast forward the clearing of the area looks so satisfying but I can't imagine how much effort goes into completing projects like that you're awesome
RIP Drama. You will be missed
Seth y ur brake squeaking
U can’t hate a guy that says “funner”
This channel is a fantastically positive side to covid
*that thing you put on a stick and has a blade on it* had me dieng
LOL the chainsaw is way to big for it 🤣 Nice trail ! I like it
Will this ever be open to the public, as a MTB trail/track?
Seth, try to put like a cushion on the maul. Maybe something that absorbs the shocks, (like on a hammer). I gotta say, all of this work you're doing, you could be great at building bike parks. You got the talent and confidence to be a designer and such! I wish I had a backyard like that! Keep it up, and hope to see more like this!!
